Which version of the CTT should I use?

As each new version of the DLMS UA Specification is updated and published (Via the Green and Blue ‘Books’), the accompanying ‘Yellow Book’ which outlines the testing process, the eventual test devices (Golden Devices in the case of certain wireless communication media) and the Test Tool are updated.

This should happen on a regular basis each time new DLMS UA Specifications are released or Test Tools bug fixes are required.

It is important that a device is tested with the latest version of the Test Tool, to offer security that it remains compatible with the latest Standard.

Please see below an explanation of each version which shows which Test Tool should be used in line with each version of the Standard

CTT 4.0/ DTT 4.0

CTT4.0 supports the new interface classes and new version specified in Blue Book Ed. 14:

  • “Parameter monitor” IC version = 1. This new version supports detection of parameter changes;
  • “GSM diagnostic” IC version = 2 and “LTE monitoring” IC version = 1 for data exchange on NB-IoT;
  • new ICs for data exchange on LPWAN and LoRaWAN ® networks: setup and diagnostic ICs for LPWAN and LoRaWAN
  • new ICs for data exchange on Wi-SUN ® networks, setup, and diagnostic ICs for Wi-SUN, RPL and MPL, see [1_14];
  • new ICS for data exchange on ISO/IEC 14908 PLC networks: ISO/IEC 14908 setup and diagnostic ICs;
